POSTING RULES and IMAGE SIZE

There are no camera requirements here.

All you need is the desire to Shoot, Share and Learn amongst new friends and everyone is welcomed.


DON'T BE SHY. If you're new, don't be afraid you might mess up your first post. We've all been there, and we're a friendly community. We'll help you if you stumble.

Always keep this in mind...as much as we all enjoy comments and responses to our own postings, true participation means you would also afford that friendly courtesy to commenting on other members posts to.

Consider this: If you expect others to comment on your photos, then for each photo you post, consider posting about 5 comments (or more :)) to others photos in return. It only takes a few minutes. That's really what makes our friendly community "alive".

No nudity or links to.
No obscene or inappropriate language or links to.


POSTING RULES

Image Size will not exceed 800 pixels wide, 800 pixels high.

In your Subject Line, always state in simple terms what the photo is.

Limit the use of Smilies and Font Formatting.

Kindly abide by the following:

1) No double posting. Do not post the same photos in more than one forum.

2) Do not exceed more than 1 or 2 photos per posting, and do others at intervals, at a later time. Do feel free to be snap happy, just don't post everything all at once. Happy clicking!

We can better appreciate your photos if there aren’t so many in a single post competing for our attention. QUALITY not QUANTITY

If you have series of photos you want to share, use a link to your personal gallery.

3) Don't edit someone else's photo's without asking permission. Ask using the PM (Private Message) function.


4) Do not make several consecutive photo postings, spread them out over time, at least several hours.

5) Do not respond to your own posts unless asked a direct question or adding relevant commentary. You do not have to respond with "Thank you" to your posts. This keeps fresh posts moving through and is common forum etiquette.


This ensures:

1) Forums keep their unique purpose.

2) Those with dial up ISPs don't wait too long for images to download, or when internet traffic is busy.

3) Keeps posts and viewing opportunities moving and fresh.

Message (& Photography) Standards:

Bad language is simply not necessary. Even implied language is not acceptable such as posting a few letters with underscores or substituted characters, and the same goes for "internet acronyms". With internet acronyms, just because it isn't spelled out, doesn't mean it is not offensive.

Implied language is no different than just spelling it out.

The rules posted are not intended to be an exhaustive list of do's and don'ts. So use good sense and sensitivity.

If you have the slightest doubt, then don't.
That instinct will likely be right.


Think of this in terms of photos posted as well.

Digital Photography is for everyone, all ages, and all walks of life. That is what our friendly community is all about.
