Light Box

Postby nyweb » Tue Mar 30, 2010 8:38 am

Just messing around with my point and shoot. Built this box from a cardboard box, a couple of t-shirts, and some poster board !!! I'm too cheap to spend $99.99 on a box all made up !! I need one more light for the top !!

If you wonder how your BG got blue - it is those florescent squiggly bulbs. Google "Reduce Color Channels in PS" - that will set it right. If you can't do it just yell and the cavalry will descend. Like the box!!!! robert

Put this over by a window. It looks pretty bright and that might work. That blue is OK, as long as you know where it is coming from - you already know how to make it yellow. robert

Mirror??

That's a great idea! I'm interested in this! Thanks for sharing! So, if I made my box with foil in the bottom, would I turn it facing the window? and not have to use those aweful blue lights?

Pete, I like your thinking when it comes to saving $$. Here's a pic of my homemade box, made with poster board, which also doubles as reflectors. I haven't put the holes in the sides and top yet. It's held together with strips of velco, which you can see on the top. I really like your taste in ceramic art. :D

Dave....your box is a little sturdier and you can break it down !! The t-shirts weren't the best idea.....hard to shine the light through !!I might try muslin like they suggest !! I collect ducks too by the way !!!!!!

Now, the fact that you both have ceramic ducks is FUNNY!!LOL
Light boxes are interesting--why do you need holes on the sides??
Have you ever made a box in black?

The sides and the top are cut out and covered with muslin or t-shirt material....you can shine lights in to get the effect you want !

Don't forget, the easiest way to get rid of any color cast is with a white balance adjustment.
